Ty Robinson recently travelled to Washington D.C. to receive a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics & Science Teaching. Robinson serves as a Clinical Faculty Associate (CFA) in the College of Physical & Mathematical Sciences at Brigham Young University, and is a full-time grades nine through twelve science teacher at Provo High School in Provo, Utah.

Robinson has been a teacher for twenty-one years, and is currently teaching geology and earth systems science and AP environmental science at Provo High School. He also serves as the Provo School District's science fair director, and is the past president of the Utah Science Teacher's Association (USTA).

In his role as a college CFA, Robinson assists BYU students majoring in Mathematics Education, Physics Teaching, Earth & Space Science Education, Chemistry Education, and Physical Science Teaching programs. CFA's assist with the supervision of student teaching, with advising science and math education majors about careers, and with the teaching of methods classes and practica. These professionals are dedicated educators who provide a first-hand connection with what is happening in the realm of public education.

The college is grateful for the service that Ty Robinson has given in assisting BYU students preparing for their careers as secondary education teachers, and congratulates him on his receipt of this well-deserved award.
