College and Department Scholarships
College and Department Scholarships are available to eligible students who will be starting at least their second year at BYU. Talk with your faculty advisor by March 15 to be considered for a scholarship. The Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and Statistics departments also award scholarships to eligible students. Please see your individual department for details on how to apply.
There are many External Scholarships (or non-BYU scholarships) available for students studying CPMS majors. The National Scholarships, Fellowships, and Programs office maintains one of several databases listing scholarship and fellowship opportunities available to undergraduate, graduate, and international students.
University Scholarships are available to all qualifying students. Generally, a student who receives a university scholarship will most likely not receive a college scholarship as well. Apply through your AIM account before February 1 to be eligible to receive scholarships for the upcoming school year’s Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter semesters.
National Scholarships, Fellowships, and Programs offers many Application Resources to help students prepare for and apply for non-BYU scholarships.
Here is the PowerPoint from the Scholarship Seminar held on September 29, 2011. It contains helpful information on finding scholarships.
